Advent and Christmas 2025
As we enter this holy season of Advent, we are reminded that it is a time of hopeful anticipation and intentional preparation. Advent invites us firstly to slow down and reflect while readying our hearts for the coming of Christ - our source of peace, joy, and light in the world.
In all five of our schools, we see this spirit come alive each day through the kindness of students and the dedication of staff. Further, the support of families and community partners is ever-present. Together, we accompany our children as they grow not only academically, but also spiritually and in their understanding of what it means to love and serve others.
Scripture reminds us: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who lived in a land of deep darkness, light has shined.” (Isaiah 9:2). This passage speaks powerfully to the heart of Advent. In a world that sometimes feels uncertain or challenging, we are called to be bearers of light, through acts of compassion, patience, forgiveness, unselfishness and generosity. As we prepare for the birth of Christ, may we be inspired to reflect that light in our homes, schools, workplace, and community.
During this season of Advent and Christmas, I invite all families to take moments of stillness amidst the busyness. This could perhaps be in prayer, simple conversation, or just being together. Let us support one another with grace and encouragement and remember that the heart of Advent is rooted in hope, faith, love, and joyful anticipation.
On behalf of the Holy Family School Division, I offer prayers for a blessed Advent and Christmas season. May the coming weeks bring you peace and joy in your hearts and homes, and the comfort of knowing that we journey toward Christmas with Christ at the centre.
Wishing you and your loved ones a holy Advent and Christmas season filled with hope and abundant blessings.
